Full Diagnostic Assessment

This is a comprehensive assessment that explores the individual‘s general underlying ability, as well as their literacy skills, and the cognitive areas that are associated with dyslexia.

This is the only assessment available that can provide a diagnosis of dyslexia. It is a comprehensive assessment that explores the individual‘s general underlying ability as well as their literacy skills and the cognitive areas that are associated with dyslexia. These cognitive areas include phonological awareness, short term and working memory skills, and processing speed. A full report is provided outlining the individual‘s strengths and areas of weakness, stating whether or not a diagnosis of dyslexia has been given. The report also includes recommendations on how best to support the individual in the future. This may include referrals to other professionals.

It is recommended that a child is 7 years old for this assessment so that they have had access to full time education for a considerable period of time. This enables us to be certain that the reason for the difficulties they are experiencing is not due to a lack of educational experiences.

This assessment is suitable for those applying for Disabled Students‘ Allowance.

The assessment lasts approximately 3 hours and the individual will be offered rest breaks throughout.

I have the necessary qualifications to complete this assessment and have an Assessment Practising
